Disclosure: I am an independent USANA Associate and may earn commissions on sales. Opinions here are my own. This is general information, not medical, legal or financial advice. No income is guaranteed, and results vary from person to person.

Social media is where many Associates meet customers, and it is also where many rule problems start. Use this checklist before you post. It is based on the general principles in USANA's advertising guidance for Associates, which is published by the company. Always read the current rules for your own country.

Before you post

  • Say that you are an independent Associate where required.
  • Do not present yourself as a USANA employee.
  • Do not use the company's corporate logo unless the rules allow it.
  • Use only approved product information and claims.

Product statements

  • Do not say a product treats, cures or prevents a disease.
  • Do not suggest products replace medicine.
  • When unsure, use the wording on the official product page, or leave the claim out.

Income statements

  • Do not post income figures, screenshots or promises.
  • Do not imply that you can retire or earn passive income through the company.
  • Follow the compensation plan and the company's income disclosure rules.

Disclaimers

If disclaimers are required, place them on the same page as the claim, in readable text.

Personal stories

Share your own experiences honestly. Do not exaggerate. Get permission before using someone else's photo, video or quotes.

Keep a record

Save screenshots of your posts and approvals. If rules change, update your content.

When in doubt

Ask the company's compliance team. A short delay is better than removing a post later.
